Finally, PMR 2010 is here. For the past one week it has been extremely challenging as candidates face such tremendous stress emotionally, psychologically and physically. As the candidates enter the examination hall, it is all up to them and up to grace of God.

SPM 2009

Assalamualaikum and a very good day...

It is SPM result again and for the past week I personally did not feel anything. Then, this morning I woke up with a nasty feeling of nervousness and fear. The feeling is getting stronger now as I wait for Mr Hasan to pick up the result slips from the Kuala Selangor PPD.

All I can say is... GOOD LUCK AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU IN ANYTHING YOU DO.

SUCCESS is not EVERYTHING and FAILURE is not EVERYTHING too.

The River - Poetry Recital Competition

Hi everyone!

We had a poetry recital competition between the boys and the girls of 1 Delima. We had adapted the poem by Valerie Bloom entitled The River in the competition. I did enjoy watching my students expressing themselves creatively and at the same time appreciating the poem too. These are their pictures that I took as they presented the poem.

This is it!!

SPM 2009 starts today with Malay Language and History. After being in KUSESS for nearly 5 years, the students will sit for this exam that might determine their future. Why do I say 'might' and not 'will'? It is because nothing is certain in this world we live in.

One can be successful in his or her examination but one can never be sure that he or she will succeed in life. SPM does lend a hand in your future, but it is not the determining aspect of one's life because there is more to life. There are other examinations, other challenges and other facets in life that determine one's future.

But all in all, GOOD LUCK TO ALL SPM 2009 CANDIDATES.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU

Oh My God...

I am preparing the schedule for next year's examinations and suddenly it dawns on me. We are in the month of November and we are less than 2 months away from 2010. Questions then pop in my mind.

1. What have I achieved this year? Personally and professionally.
2. What have I gained?
3. What have I lost?
4. Why do I waste so much of my time on frivolous matters?
5. Why am I still here?(this is a rhetorical question)
6. How did I manage to survive 11 months in 2009?
7. Why have not I changed for the better?

It is so fascinating that when time is not on our side, you tend to see negative sides of so many things. We are human beings who constantly feel regret. Nevertheless, we are also human beings who are capable of doing many other marvellous things in our lives. As one most famous saying says... IN EVERY CLOUD THERE IS A SILVER LINING... can you see the silver lining in your lives? I can...

Hari Graduasi & Penganugerahan Kecemerlangan 2009

Yesterday I felt so proud and happy. I may not feel how parents feel when they see their children walked up the stage and received their awards for their academic excellence, nonetheless my heart felt warm and happy as I see my students who were so naughty and cheeky when they were 13 years old and now they walked proudly showing to the world what they have achieved.


The stage, the crowd, the music, the atmosphere and the feelings were overwhelming. I simply cherished the feelings I have for these kids. I am proud to be their teacher. Proud that they have become what they are even when I might contribute only 0.00001% of what they are now.

Congratulations to all... May God Bless all of you

Haiku For Today

Haiku 1 (my point of view)
Little cute cuddly
kittens, please don't run away.
I simply love you.

Go away woman!
Do not go near me or touch
my soft lovely fur!

I am happy...

Yeah.... after a few weeks of blunder, stress, heartache, pain, anger, confusion and dissatisfaction... I can say that today I am happy as I wait for my mother frying the banana fritters covered with love and affection. Actually they are covered with yummy sesame seeds....


Those confusing feelings are still hovering in my mind and heart... but I can safely say that... being home makes a lot of difference...


Now, I am thinking about my kids in KUSESS. I hope they are as happy as I am even when they are not munching on their mothers' banana fritters. I hope that their parents are there with them right now. I hope they will find something that will make them happy in whatever they are doing.


Have a pleasant and fun weekend kids.... and teachers as well...

SURPRISE... SURPRISE...

Who in the right mind does not like surprises? When someone surprises you with a flower, a kiss, a simple phonecall, a present or even as simple as a warm hug. You would surely smile and think that it is the best day in your life. Well.. those are GOOD ... EXCITING surprises.


What about BAD surprises? I am not talking about surprises gone awry, but I am talking about surprises that make your day horrible, awful and shocking. Surprises that will shake your heart, your being and your soul. Maybe some might say that that it is life as it is full of surprises. Okay, I do understand that. Nonetheless, what if you face your day (nearly everyday that is) as if you are living on landmines? You constantly feel scared, uncertain, panicky and stressed up. These feelings are SO BAD for your body, mind and soul.You WILL never know WHAT kind of HORRIBLE surprises lurking around the corner.


Fear and uncertainty corrode your life like acid. It drains your emotional well-being. It is also sucking all the positive vibes that you have sapping all the energy that you have.


So, what can I do? What can you do? Think positive (this is what Miss Shy would say). Yet, sometimes it is just too hard. People are different and I am NOT positive most of the time. But I can try. I can smile and convince myself that everything is going to be OKAY. Can this work? I am not sure...

Why Should I Respect You? That is the question....

What is respect? A very famous line that all of us might know is "respect should should be earned and not gained". But as I remember correctly, when I was growing up in my village in Klang surrounded by so many relatives that comprised of countless grandfathers, granduncles, aunties, nieces, nephews and even grandchildren that we SHOULD respect EVERYONE who is older than us. I also remember vividly how i tried my best to show my respect to the older people that I knew. The most visible way is for us to follow what they ask us to do. Yet, even when I was young I felt that respect should be given to those who deserve to be respected.

How could I possibly respect an elderly relative of mine when she was treating some of us unfairly and cruelly? How could I respect an uncle of mine when he himself did not respect me. I was a child, yes. Nevertheless, as a child I was, I deserved respect from him too. And as I was studying in my primary school which was Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Belah Klang, how could I respect a teacher who simply WHACKED you with a recorder for no apparent reason! Do not get me wrong, the teachers there were AWESOME but some were simply (I am sorry to say) SCARY to a young Ayu that is! How could I respect an adult who asked an 11-year old girl to NOT show her true self in front of other people. She asked my cousin and I to be polite, soft-spoken delicate girls, which we were not!


Respect is not something one gets from showing one's money. Respect is not given when someone boasts of all the magnificent and extraordinary things that he or she has done in his or her life. Respect can NEVER be given to those who DEMAND to be respected. Respect does not come together with TITLES given to you. Respect too will not be given to you if you are not being honest with yourself and the people around you. You will not be respected if you do not respect other people first.


I believe (please note that this is what I believe and as a human being I may be wrong) that I should respect people, then people MIGHT respect me. Respect them as what they are. Respect the people around you regardless of their race, religion or beliefs. People are different. One should never be JUDGED just because one is different.

Respect your friends. Respect your family members. Respect your children. Respect your boss. Respect your students. Respect your seniors. Respect your juniors. If you feel that people are not respecting you, ask this to yourself: How much have I shown my respect to this person? What have I done to DESERVE the RESPECT I should be getting?

DO NOT DEMAND RESPECT FROM OTHER PEOPLE UNLESS YOU HAVE DONE THE SAME FOR THEM!!

8 PERSONALITIES YOU CAN LIVE WITHOUT!

NOBODY IS PERFECT

Yes, that is true. But some may find that someone in their lives sometimes can be overbearing, stuck up, snobbish, racist, power crazy lunatic, conceited, arrogant, narcissistic, uneducated, immature and freakishly 'poisonous' human being in their surrounding. I am not saying that THAT person is YOU, but it could! Once in our lives we might have the privilege to meet this pathetically POISONOUS pompous phony pernicious pretentious person. It could be YOU or it could be ME! Why do I say that it is a privilege to meet this kind of person? It is because we too can learn to be better people!

Let us look into ourselves. We always look at the people around us, we JUDGE and we PROSECUTE. Let us close our eyes and look at our own lives, our family, our friends, our colleagues, our bosses, our subordinates or frankly, anyone we know. What have we done for them today? What have we done to them today? What have we done to those around us today? Do our friends smile and laugh with us? Do our bosses praise and compliment us? Do your children hug you and thank you? Do your students greet you as they see you? Do your seniors wave at you and smile? Do your juniors run to you and ask for advice? Do your subordinates feel comfortable with you?

Sometimes we accuse others of THIS and THAT because we FAIL to see our own mistakes and our own selfish ways. Friends might leave you. Children might hate you. Your bosses might dislike you. Your teachers might lose hope on you. Your subordinates might no longer be motivated. YOU might forever feel that you are right and on the 'correct' path and finally you are too blinded with what you are.

Let us learn to look into ourselves and learn to appreciate the people around us. Learn to CHANGE or maybe change is hard, so let us learn to ADAPT for others; to be better friends, better bosses, better students, better parents or better colleagues. Thus, I want to share with you an article that I read a long time ago. It is about EIGHT PERSONALITIES YOU WISH YOU DON'T HAVE!

You may have one or two of those HORRIDLY HORRIBLE HORRIFYINGLY HARMFUL HEINOUS personalities. Nonetheless, maybe now you can be a better person. BUT, if you suddenly realized that you have ALL the personalities... I can say... MAY GOD HELP YOU! :)

HOLIER THAN THOU

James Hetfield from Metallica sings Holier Than Thou in the Black Album and I personally love that song. Well actually, all the songs in the Black Album are my favourites! I first listened to this song when I was 18. Hetfield was singing at the top of his lungs; screaming the ideas of this human being who is so caught up with his/her own ideals and beliefs, and this person refuses to see or hear anything except what he/she believes in. This person is so convinced that he/she is the best in any possible way blinding him/her of truth sometimes. Confidence is good as one knows, but arrogance is another. We are merely human beings and if we are perfect, we are NOT humans and we are basically too proud or too conceited to see our own weaknesses and flaws. The only perfect thing that we know is GOD and, we as mere mortals ought to learn from Metallica.

I love 1 Intan!!

We had a storytelling competition at the Balai PIBG. It was so much fun! The kids are talented and some really shy ones really opened up just now. Both Aida are excellent storytellers while Amin and Hadif are as goofy as ever! I will announce the winners of this competition tomorrow. I cannot wait to tell them as they too are extremely excited to know!

Bugsy Bug...

I am bugged that right now... nothing seems to bug me.
Is it possible to find something that can bug me? I bet i can!
Nevertheless when I finally find the thing that bugs me... I will be so unhappy that I am bugged by it.
